Fanny Serrano, makeup artist to the stars, dies at 72

Famous makeup artist and stylist Fanny Serrano (real name: Felix Mariano Fausto Jr.) has died at the age of 72, Designers Circle Philippines has confirmed.

The organization, made up of Filipino fashion designers, announced Serrano’s death while paying tribute to the figure of beauty and style, as seen on their Facebook page today, May 11.

“A painful moment for the entire fashion and beauty industry. We have lost a PIONEER, GENIUS and CREATIVE FORCE,” he said. “But for us, Designers Circle Philippines, we have lost our one and only ‘TF’, Tita Fanny Serrano, our mentor, inspiration and friend.”

“Rest in power and beauty, TF!” We will be forever grateful and honored to have known a true Filipino icon in our lifetime,” he added.

Other Filipino fashion designers who have also remembered and paid tribute to Serrano include Dave Ocampo and Domz Ramos.

The cause of death has yet to be revealed by the organization, at the time of writing. It may be recalled that Serrano suffered a massive stroke and was put on life support in March last year, as confirmed by actress Sharon Cuneta. The Megastar, who has known Serrano for decades, also reported two months after Serrano returned home and is recovering.

Apart from being a figure of beauty and fashion, Serrano also entered the showbiz industry as an actor and appeared in some films including “Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita” (1989), ” Tarima” (2010) and many episodes of ABS-CBN. long-running television series “Maalaala Mo Kaya”. J.B.
